Yarn – Red Heart with Love, color A Mango 7 oz/198 g/370 yds/338 m used approximately 100 to 150 yds, color B Autumn 5oz/141 g/230 yds/211 m used approximately 50 to 100 yds

Hook and Notions – Hook: H (5mm)

Measurement – 6-inches wide12-inches long

Gauge – Not crucial

BLO = Back Loops Only
Ch/chs = chain/chains
Dc = double crochet
Hb-dc = herringbone double crochet
Hdc = half double crochet
Sc = single crochet
Sp/sps = space/spaces

Tr = triple (treble) crochet

Special Stitches
Herringbone Double Crochet – (Hb dc) – yarn over, insert hook into indicated stitch, yarn over draw loop up and through, first loop on hook, (2 loops on hook), yarn over and draw through 1 loop on hook, yarn over and draw through both loops on hook.  (Hb dc completed)

Notes
Chain 1’s at beginning of rounds and rows do not count as a stitch.
After Round 16 it is worked in rows not rounds

Instructions

With color A, Chain 2,

Round 1: Work 12 hdc in 2nd chain from hook; join with a slip stitch in first hdc. (12 hdc)

Round 2: Chain 1 (see notes), work 2 hdc into same stitch as join and into each stitch around;
join with a slip stitch in first hdc. (24 hdc)

Round 3: Chain 1 (see notes), hdc into same stitch as join and into next stitch,
* work 2 hdc in next stitch, hdc in next stitch, *
repeat from * to * around; join with a slip stitch in first hdc. (35 hdc)

Round 4: (working in BLO) chain 1, BLO hdc in each stitch around;
join with slip stitch to first hdc. (35 BLO hdc)

Round 5: Chain 1 (see notes), HB-dc in same stitch as join and each stitch around;
join with a slip stitch to first HB-dc (35 HB-dc)

Round 6: Repeat Round 5

drop color A and attach color B

Rounds 7-8: with color B repeat Round 5, at end of Round 8 drop color B and attach color A

Rounds 9–12: With color A repeat Round 5

drop color A and attach color B

Rounds 13–14: With color B repeat Round 5

drop color B and attach color A

Round 15: Repeat Round 5 (35 hb-dc)

Round 16: Chain 1 (see notes), HB-dc in same stitch as join and in next 2 stitches,
HB-dc decrease, * HB-dc next 3 stitches, HB-dc decrease, *
repeat from * to * around; join with slip stitch in to top of 1st HB-dc, (21 hb-dc, 7 hb-dc dec)

Worked in rows not rounds here to end

Row 17: Chain 1, HB-dc in same stitch as join and next 3 stitches,
HB-dc decrease, * HB-dc in next 4 stitches, HB-dc decrease, *
repeat from * to * across DO NOT JOIN. Turn (20 hb-dc, 4 hb-dc dec)

Row 18: Chain 1, HB-dc in same stitch as chain and next 4 stitches,
HB-dc decrease, * HB-dc next 5 stitches, HB-dc decrease, *
repeat from * to * across. Turn (17 hb-dc, 3 hb-dc dec)

Drop Color A pick up Color B

Row 19: Chain 1 (see notes), HB-dc in same stitch as chain and next 4 stitches,
HB-dc decrease, * Hb-dc next 4 stitches, HB-dc decrease, *
repeat from * to * across. Turn (16 hb-dc, 2 hb-dc dec)

Row 20: Chain 1 (see notes), HB-dc in same stitch as chain and next 3 stitches,
HB-dc decrease, HB-dc next 4 stitches,
HB-dc decrease, HB-dc in last 2 stitchess. Turn (14 hb-dc, 3 hb-dc dec)

Row 21: Chain 1 (see notes), HB-dc in same stitch as chain 1 and in each stitch across. Turn (17 hb-dc)

Rows 22-24: Repeat Row 21 (17 hb-dc)

Row 25: Chain 1 (see notes), sc in same stitch as chain 1,
skip next stitch, work 3 dc in next stitch, skip next stitch,
sc in next stitch, work (5 dc in next stitch, skip 1 stitch, sc next stitch, skip next stitch),
repeat 2 times, 3 dc in last stitch.

Fasten off Color A, pick up Color B

Finishing

With Color B at side opening, chain 1, sc in ends of rows to center point,
work 2 sc in center, sc up other side to top, sc in top of 1st dc,
work (5 dc in next sc, sc in 3rd dc of next set of dc’s) repeat 3 times,
(SHOULD HAVE SC IN TOP OF LAST DC),
sc down side to beginning sc, slip stitch to top of 1st sc.

Fasten off and weave in ends.

Make 2

With Color B chain 14

Slip Stitch in 2nd chain from hook, sc in next 2 stitches,
hdc in next 2 sts, dc in next 2 stitches,
tr in next 4 stitches, dc in next 2 stitches, hdc next 2 stitches,
sc next stitches, chain 2,
working up other side of beginning chain sc in next 2 stitches,
hdc in next 2 stitches, dc in next 2 stitches, tr next 4 stitches,
dc in next 2 stitches, hdc next 2 stitches, sc next stitch.

Fasten off, sew leaves on to wine bottle cozy, weave in ends.

Lace and Tie:

Using both colors chain 75

Fasten off

Starting at center opening of cozy lace chain up the opening using ends of rows (lace as you would a pair of shoes)

Insert wine bottle and tie
