The Blessed Fingerless Mitts was designed as a gift for my mother’s co-worker. With all the lady had been through this year my mother thought it would be a nice gesture to give her something special, handmade and straight from the heart this year.

Wear these simple and function-able mitts while running errands or on your way to work. These mitts are designed with a combination of simple stitches and a hint of texture.

BLESSED FINGERLESS MITTS
REQUIREMENTS
Level of Difficulty
- Intermediate
Yarn
- I used Caron Simply Soft, #4 Worsted; Color A (Charcoal Heather), Color B (Dark Country Blu), 100 yards (roughly)
Hook and Notions
- Size Hook: H (5mm), scissors, stitch markers and blunt needle
Measurement
- 4” wide x 6” long
Gauge
- 2” = 7 sts
Abbreviations
- Ch/chs = chain/chains
- Sc = single crochet
- Hdc = half double crochet
- Dc = double crochet
- Exsc = extended single crochet
Notes
- Chain 1 at beginning of round does not count unless otherwise stated.
Special Stitches
- Extended Single Crochet (Exsc) = Insert hook and pull up a loop in indicated stitch, yarn over and draw through one loop on hook, yarn over and draw through remaining two loop on hook.

COLORS: A – Charcoal Heather; B – Dark Country Blu
Working with Color A
Cuff
Ch 24
Row 1: hdc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. (23 hdc)
Row 2: Ch 1, exsc in same st, blo exsc in each st across, ending with exsc in last st. (2 exsc, 21 blo exsc)
Repeat Row 2:
4 times
Fasten Off, leaving long enough tail to sew down side of cuff.
Attach Color B in last stitch on Row 6
Glove
Round 1: Ch 1, sc in same st, sc in each st around; join with a sl st in 1st sc. (23 sc)
Round 2: Ch 1, sc in same st, *dc in next st, sc in next st,* repeat from *around; join with a sl st in 1st sc. (23 sts)
Round 3: Ch 1, dc in same st, *sc in next st, dc in next st,* repeat from *around; join with a sl st in 1st dc. (23 sts)
Repeat Rounds 2 and 3:
6 times
Round 4: Ch 1, exsc in same st, exsc in each st around; join with a sl st in 1st exsc. (23 exsc)
Round 5: Ch 1, sc in same st, sc in next 2 sts, ch 4, sk next 3 sts, sc in next 17 sts; join with a sl st in 1st sc.
Round 6: Ch 1, sc in same st, sc in next 2 sts, work 4 sc in chain 4 space, sc in each remaining st around; join with a sl st in 1st sc.
Fasten Off and weave in ends.
