How to Crochet a Square Coaster, Instructions:
With Color A Chain 2,
Round 1: Work 8 hdc in the 2nd chain from the hook; join with a slip stitch in the top of the 1st hdc. (8 hdc)
Round 2: Chain 1 (does not counts as stitch), hdc in the same stitch as join, work corner in the next stitch, hdc in the next stitch, work corner in the next stitch, hdc in the next stitch, work corner in the next stitch, hdc in the next stitch, work corner in the next stitch; join with a slip stitch in top of 1st hdc. (12 hdc, 4 ch 1 sps)
Round 3: Chain 1, hdc in the same stitch as the join, hdc in the next stitch, work corner in the chain 1 space, * hdc in the next 3 stiches, work corner in the next chain 1 space, * repeat from * to * 2 times, hdc in the last stitch; join with a slip stitch in the top of the 1st hdc. (hdc 5 hdc each side = 20 hdc, 4 ch1 sps)
Round 4: Slip stitch to the corner chain 1 space, work corner (CH 2, dc, CH 2, 2 dc) in the chain 1 space, * chain 2, skip the next 2 stitches, dc in the next 2 stitches, chain 2, skip the next 2 stitches, work corner (CH 2, dc, CH 2, 2 dc) in the chain 1 space, * repeat from * to * around; join with a slip stitch in the top of the 1st chain 2. (24 dc, 12 ch 2 sps)
Drop Color A and Attach Color B in the corner chain 2 space
Round 5: Chain 1, work * (2 sc, ch 1, 2 sc) corner made, sc in the next 2 stitches, work l tr in the skipped 2 stitches 2 rounds below, sc in the next 2 stitches, work l tr in each of the skipped 2 stitches 2 rounds below, * repeat from * to * around; join with a slip stitch in the top of the 1st sc. (48 sc, l6 tr, 4 ch 1 sps)
Fasten off Color B and Pickup Color A
Round 6: Chain 1, hdc in the same stitch, hdc in the next 4 stitches, * work corner in chain 1 space, hdc in each stitch across to the next chain 1 space; join with slip stitch in the top of the 1st hdc. (76 hdc, 4 ch 1 sps)
Fasten off and weave in ends.
