Special Stitches
- hbsc: Insert hook through the vertical bar of the previous single crochet stitch, insert hook into the next stitch and pull up a loop, YO (yarn over) and pull through all three loops on the hook.
- Sc 3rd Loop: With the front of the stitch facing you, look at the top of the stitch, and find the sideways “V”. Next, bend the stitch to look at the back, and you should see another “V”. You’ll be working into the back loop of that “V”, this is called the 3rd loop. When working in across, like you are in the square the 3rd loop should be facing you.
