Level of Difficulty – Intermediate
Yarn – Red Heart Crème de la Crème, #4 Worsted Weight 100% Combed Cotton, 2 ozs/56.7 g/98 yds, Color 0971 In The Pinks. Used Approximately 50 yards
Hook and Notions – Size Hook: H/8 (5.0 mm), Scissors, and yarn needle.
Measurement – Laying flat width 4 ½ inches, side height 4 ½ inches Bottom circumference 4 inches after round 4
Gauge – 5 patterns + 5 rows = 2-inches
Abbreviations
BLO = Back Loop Only
Ch = chain
Dc = double crochet
Hdc = half double crochet
Sc = single crochet
Special Stitches
Shell stitch – work 2 double crochet, chain 1, 2 double crochet in the indicated stitch.
Notes – Chain 1 at beginning of rounds does not count as a stitch.
Instructions
Chain 2
Round 1: Work 8 hdc in the 2nd chain from the hook; join with a slip stitch to in the 1st hdc. (8 hdc)

Round 2: Chain 1, work 2 hdc in the same stitch as join, work 2 hdc in each hdc around; join with a slip stitch in the top of the 1st hdc. (16 hdc)
Round 3: Chain 1, work 2 hdc in the same stitch as the join, hdc in the next hdc, * work 2 hdc in the next hdc, hdc in the next hdc, * repeat from * to * around; join with a slip stitch in the top of the 1st hdc. (24 hdc)
Round 4: Chain 1, work 2 hdc in the same stitch as the join, hdc in the next 4 hdc, * work 2 hdc in the next hdc, hdc in the next 4 hdc, * repeat from * to * around; join with a slip stitch in the top of the 1st hdc. (30 hdc)
Circumference should be 4 inches at this point.
If using a different size jar adjust to fit the bottom of your jar.
Round 5 (working in the Back Loop Only): Chain 1, hdc in same stitch as join and in each hdc around; join with a slip stitch in the top of the 1st hdc. (30 hdc)
Round 6: Chain 1, hdc in same stitch as join and in each hdc around; join with a slip stitch in the top of the 1st hdc. (30 hdc)
Round 7: Chain 1, sc in the same stitch as join, skip the next 2 hdc, work the shell in the next hdc, skip the next 2 hdc, * sc in the next hdc, work the shell in the next hdc, skip the next 2 hdc, * repeat from * to * around; join with a slip stitch in the top of the 1st sc. (5 shells)
Round 8: Chain 1, work the shell in the same stitch as the join, * sc in next the next chain 1 space, work the shell in the next sc, * repeat from * to * around; join with a slip stitch in the top of the 1st dc. (5 shells)
Round 9: Slip Stitch into the chain 1 space, chain 1, sc in the same stitch, * work the shell in the next sc, sc in the next chain 1 space, * repeat from * to * around; join with a slip stitch in the top of the 1st sc. (5 shells)
Rounds 10-16: Repeat Rounds 8 and 9
Fasten off and weave in ends.
