The Timeless cowl pattern is designed for the brisker Spring and Summer nights. The free crochet pattern uses the V-stitch which gives an open and lacy effect to the cowl and it works up extremely quickly. It will be a fabulous addendum to your handmade wardrobe!

I love how soft and silky Soft Essentials yarn glides through my fingers and across my hook! Unfortunately, it has been discontinued, but any soft #4 chunky yarn should work to crochet this cowl.

- Red Heart Soft Essentials #5 Bulky, Minty – 2 skeins (262 yards total)
Hooks and Notions
- Hook: J (6mm)
- scissors
- blunt needle
Measurement
- 24 inches long and 12-inches wide
Abbreviations
- Ch = chain
- Dc = double crochet
Special Stitches
- FHDC – (Foundation Half Double Crochet) Chain 2, yarn over, insert hook into first chain (2nd from the hook), yarn over, pull up through the first loop on the hook (this is your first chain loop). With 3 loops on hook, yarn over, pull through 3. * Yarn over, insert your hook into the first chain loop, yarn over, pull up a loop (this is your second chain loop), yarn over, pull through 3. 2 fhdc completed. Repeat from * until you reach the desired number of fhdc.
- V-Stitch – work (dc, ch 1, dc) in the indicated stitch

Timeless Cowl Pattern Instructions

FHDC (Foundation Half Double Crochet) 88,
Row 1: Chain 3, skip next stitch, * V stitch in next stitch, skip the next stitch, * repeat across ending with a skip the next stitch, dc in the last stitch. Turn (43 V sts)
Row 2: Chain 3, V stitch in each chain 1 space of the previous row ending with a dc in the 2nd chain of the starting chain. Turn
Row 3-16: Repeat Row 2
Fasten off leaving tail long enough to sew.
Sew ends together using the mattress stitch or your go to stitch.
