Winter Wonder Shawl ~ Crochet Along
REQUIREMENTS
Level of Difficulty
Advanced Beginner
Yarn
You may use any size yarn and the recommended hook size. However, depending on the bulkiness of the yarn will depend on how defined your stitches are.
Hooks and Notions
Hooks: H (5mm) & I (5.5mm), scissors and blunt yarn needle
Measurement
20-inches wide and 60-ISH inches long – using CupCake yarn.
Gauge
Mine is 5 hdc + 4 rows = 2-inches (beginning of shawl)
using the Lion Brand CupCake yarn
Abbreviations – US Terminology
Ch/chs = chain/chains
Sc = single crochet
Hdc = half double crochet
Dc = double crochet
St(s) = stitch(s)

I used Lion Brand Cupcake #3 in Coffee Break. You may use any size yarn and the recommended hook size. However, depending on the bulkiness of the yarn will depend on how defined your stitches are.
If your yarn suggests using a I hook, then you will also need a J hook. UNLESS you crochet loosely
Chain 1 at beginning of row does not count.
Wrapped double crochet stitches made counts as 2 dc sts

Wrapped DC – dc around the BODY of dc just made. (Wrapped double crochet stitches made counts as 2 dc sts)

Instructions
Row 51: Chain 1, dc in same stitch, *skip next stitch, dc in the next, dc around BODY of dc just made,* repeat from *to* across, ending with 1 dc in last stitch. (2 dc, 39 wrapped dc sets)
Rows 52-70: Repeat Rows 51 **NOTE: You can work more or less rows of 51 if desired. It all depends on how much of this part you’d like. I personally will work the full amount of rows that I’ve recommended.**
Row 71: Chain 1, hdc in each stitch across. Turn (81 hdc)
Row 72: Chain 1, dc in same stitch, skip next stitch, *sc in next stitch, skip next stitch, work V-stitch in next stitch, skip next stitch,* repeat from *to* across to last 2 stitches, skip next stitch, dc in last stitch. Turn (20 V-sts, 20 sc, 2 dc)
Row 73: Chain 1, dc in same stitch, *work V-stitch in sc, sc in chain 1 space of V-stitch,* repeat from *to* across ending with dc in last stitch. Turn (20 V-sts, 20 sc, 2 dc)
Row 74: Chain 1, dc in same stitch, *sc in chain 1 space of V-stitch, work V-stitch in sc,* repeat from *to* across ending with dc in last stitch. Turn
Rows 75-83: Repeat Row 37
Rows 84-85: Chain 1, hdc in each stitch across. Turn (81 hdc)
