Frosty Kisses Blanket ~ Crochet Along
REQUIREMENTS
Level of Difficulty
Advanced Beginner
Yarn
What colors? Whatever your heart desires. You can use multiple colors, a solid color or a gradient of sorts.
You can work with my suggested yarn and color or select your own yarn and colors!
However, depending on the weight of the yarn will depend on how defined your stitches are.
Hooks and Notions
Hooks: I (5.5mm), scissors, tape measure and blunt yarn needle
Measurement
36 inches – using Baby Hugs yarn.
Gauge
Mine is 7 sc + 8 rows = 2-inches (beginning of blanket)
using the Red Heart Baby Hugs yarn
Abbreviations – US Terminology
Ch/chs = chain/chains
Sc = single crochet
Hdc = half double crochet
St(s) = stitch(s)

I used Red Heart Baby Hugs #4 in Ink, Princess, Frosting, and Happy. You may use any size yarn and the recommended hook size. However, depending on the weight of the yarn will depend on how defined your stitches are.
If your yarn suggests using a I hook, then that’s what you will use. UNLESS you crochet to tight or to loose. Then you may want to adjust your hook size accordingly.
Chain 3 at beginning of row does counts as a stitch.

Instructions
COLORS: A – Ink; B – Princess; C – Frosting; D – Happy
Working with Color A and I hook
Chain 3, slip stitch into first chain to form a ring
Row 1: Chain 3, sc into ring, chain 1, hdc into ring. Turn (2 sts, ch 1 sp)
Row 2: Chain 3, sc into the chain 1 space, sc in next sc, (sc, ch 1, hdc) in chain 3 space. Turn
Row 3: Chain 3, sc into chain 1 space, sc in each of the next 3 sc, (sc, ch 1, hdc) in chain 3 space. Turn
Row 4: Chain 3, sc into chain 1 space, sc in each sc across, ending with (sc, ch 1, hdc) in chain 3 space. Turn
Row 5: Chain 3, sc into chain 1 space, sc in each sc across, ending with (sc, ch 1, hdc) in chain 3 space. Turn
Fasten off Color A and attach Color B
Rows 6-9: Repeat Row 5 (22 sts, 1 ch 1 sp) Turn
Fasten off Color B and attach Color C
Rows 10-12: Repeat Row 5 (23 sts, ch 1 sp) Turn
Fasten off Color C and attach Color D
Rows 13-17: Repeat Row 5 ( sts, ch 1 sp) Turn
Fasten off Color D and attach Color A
