Notes
Chain 2 at beginning of round does counts as a hdc unless otherwise stated.

Corner – work (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) into each chain 1 corner space
Special Stitches
HBdc (herringbone double crochet) – yarn over, insert hook into indicated stitch, yarn over and draw up and through first loop on hook (2 loops on hook), yarn over and draw through 1 loop on hook, yarn over and draw through both loops on hook.
Cross Double Crochet – yarn over, skip next 2 stitches, dc in next stitch, chain 1, skip 2nd skipped stitch next to dc, yarn over, holding working yarn in front of dc just made, insert hook in 1st skipped stitch, yarn over, pull through loop (3 loops on hook), yarn over, work 2 loops off, yarn over, work 2 loops off as with dc.
