Hi Everyone! I’m excited to be bringing you Part 3 of the AC & CNC Mystery Cowl CAL. Are you having so far? I know I am. I love how the colors bring the stitches to life. Have you noticed the mirror image yet? It’s pretty cool, if I do say so myself. Enjoy!

REQUIREMENTS

Terminology

  • US Terms

Level of Difficulty

  • Easy

Yarn

  • Loops & Thread Charisma

Hook and Notions

  • Hook Size: 9.0 mm (M)
  • scissors
  • yarn needle

Measurement

  • At this point you should roughly measure: 29″ by 5″ (keep in mind I crochet tightly and the thread type makes a difference)

Abbreviations

  • CA = Color A – Black
  • CB = Color B – Purple
  • CC = Color C – Pink
  • Ch/chs = chain/chains
  • Dc = double crochet
  • Sp/sps = space/spaces
  • St/sts = stitch/stitches

Pattern Notes

  • If you are using more than one color you can alternate them changing at the end of every row.

Special Stitches

  • Herringbone Double Crochet – (Hb dc) – yarn over, insert hook into indicated stitch, yarn over draw loop up and through first loop on hook (2 loops on hook), yarn over and draw through 1 loop on hook, yarn over and draw through both loops on hook. (Hb dc completed)

Instructions

Round 11 (this was Round 7): Chain 1, hdc in same stitch as join, slip stitch into next stitch, * hdc in next stitch, slip stitch in next stitch, * repeat from * to * around; joining with slip stitch in 1st hdc, (120 sts)

Change color
Round 12 (this was Round 8): Chain 1, slip stitch in same stitch as join, * hdc in slip stitch, slip stitch in top of hdc, * repeat from * to * around; joining with slip stitch in 1st slip stitch.

Change color
Round 13 (this was Round 6): Chain 1, hb-dc in same stitch as join and in each stitch around; join in top of 1st hb-dc. (120 hb-dc)
