Vintage Linen Shawl Crochet Pattern

$7.00

Categories: Accessories Crochet Patterns Shawl

Timeless, elegant, and surprisingly satisfying to make — the Vintage Linen Shawl is the classic triangle shawl your wardrobe has been waiting for. Worked in fingering weight yarn using the corner-to-corner (C2C) method with a beautiful lazy shell stitch, this shawl creates a gorgeously textured fabric with a structured, heirloom quality that sets it apart. Measuring a generous 54" wide x 27" top to point, it drapes beautifully over the shoulders and transitions effortlessly from a casual morning to a dressy evening out.

The sample shown was made in Loops & Thread Woolike — a soft, accessible yarn that showcases the shell texture beautifully in a warm natural tone.

Terms:
US crochet terms

Size:
54" wide x 27" top to point

Skill Level:
Easy/Intermediate

Materials:
Fingering weight (#1), 700 yards

To substitute, use a #1 fingering weight yarn, preferably with a similar fiber content. Yarn choice significantly affects the finished look — a smooth, plied extra fine yarn will give you clean, defined lace openings with beautiful drape, while a textured or fuzzy yarn will soften the lace effect and reduce stitch definition. For best results, choose a yarn with good stitch memory and drape rather than one that is stiff or bulky. Always check your yardage.

Hook:
US Size F (3.75 mm)

Gauge:
6 blocks (pattern) and 7 rows = 4"

Stitches Used:
Corner-to-corner (C2C) and lazy shell stitch

  • Complete written instructions in US crochet terms
  • Row-by-row guidance with block counts
