Vintage Linen Shawl Crochet Pattern | C2C Lazy Shell Triangle Shawl

Everyone needs a go-to crochet shawl — one that’s satisfying to make, beautiful to wear, and timeless enough to never go out of style. The Vintage Linen Shawl has been that shawl for makers since 2017, and I’m so glad it continues to find its way into the hands of new makers every season.

This classic triangle shawl is worked using the corner-to-corner (C2C) method with a beautiful lazy shell stitch that creates a gorgeously textured fabric with a structured, heirloom quality. It’s the kind of shawl that looks like it took incredible skill — but it’s approachable enough for easy/intermediate crocheters to work through with confidence.

About the Vintage Linen Shawl

The Vintage Linen Shawl is worked in fingering weight yarn using the C2C method, which means you start from one corner and work diagonally across, increasing one block per row until you reach your desired size. The lazy shell stitch border adds a beautiful finishing touch that elevates the entire piece.

The sample shown was made in Loops & Thread Woolike in Ivory — a soft, accessible fingering weight yarn that showcases the shell texture beautifully in a warm natural tone. This shawl also works beautifully in any fingering weight yarn you love, from classic neutrals to rich jewel tones.

The shawl can be made in multiple sizes — from toddler all the way through adult — making it one of the most versatile patterns in my collection.
