  • Hook: I – 5.5mm but you may need to drop to a H/5mm hook
  • Scissors
  • Yarn needle (to weave in ends)

  • Ch/Chs = Chain/Chains
  • Dc = Double Crochet
  • FO = Fasten Off
  • Sl St = Slip Stitch
  • Sp/Sps = Space/ Spaces
  • St/Sts = Stitch/ Stitches
  • Tr = Triple Crochet

Pattern Notes

  • I crochet tightly and hold my crochet hook like a pencil. You may need to adjust your hook size to reach the correct gauge.

Instructions

Round 1: Ch 7, (trc, ch 2 in first ch) 11 times; join with sl st in 5th ch of the initial ch 7 (4th ch visible from bottom so that you have a ch-2 sp). (12 ch-2 sps)

Round 2: Sl st into first ch 2 sp, ch 3 (Counts as first st), work 2 dc, ch 1, 3 dc into same sp; 2 dc in next 2 sps; * (3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc in the next sp); 2 dc in next 2 sps *; rep from * to * twice; join with sl st in the top of the beginning Ch 3. (44 sts)

Round 3: Ch 5 (counts as a dc and ch2), sk next 2 sts, (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in corner ch 2 sp, * (Ch 2, sk next 2 sts, dc in next 2 sts) twice, ch 2, (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in corner ch1 space, * repeat from * to * twice; ch 2, sk next 2 sts, dc in next 2 sts, ch 2, sk next 2sts; dc in next st, join with a sl st in top of ch 3. (64 sts)

Fasten Off & Change Colors

Round 4: Slip st to next space; Ch 3, dc in same space, ch 2, sk next 2 sts, (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in corner sp, * ( Ch 2, sk next 2 sts, 2 dc in next sp) 3 times, ch 2, (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in corner sp * repeat from * to * 2 more times, (Ch2, sk nxt 2 sts, 2 dc in next sp) twice; ch 2; join with a sl st in top of ch 3. (80 sts)

Round 5: Ch 3, dc in next dc, dc in ch 2 sp, dc in next 2 dc, (dc, ch 1, dc) in corner sp,* dc in next 2dc, (2 dc in next ch 2 sp, dc in next 2 dc) 3 times, 2dc in next ch2 sp, dc in next 2 dc, (dc, ch 1, dc) in corner sp, * repeat from * to * 2 more times, (dc in next 2 dc, 2 dc in ch 2 sp) 3 times; join with a sl st in top of ch 3. (84 sts)

Fasten off & weave in ends
