  • Ch/chs = chain/chains
  • Hdc = half double crochet
  • Dc = double crochet
  • Sc = single crochet
  • Sp/sps = space/spaces
  • St/sts = stitch/stitches
  • Bb = back bump
  • Tr = treble crochet
  • Sk = skip

Pattern Notes

  • For a clean foundation chain, crochet into the “back bumps” or horizontal bar of the chain
  • Chain 3 at beginning of rows counts as 1st dc

COLORS: A – Off White; B – Wine

Working with Color B

Chain 166
Row 1 (Right Side): (I used Off White) dc in 3rd bb from hook (skip 2 ch count as 1 dc) and in 1 dc in each bb across. Turn [165]

Row 2: Chain 4 (counts as 1 dc and ch 1), skip 1 stitch, dc in next stitch, * chain 1, skip 1, dc in next stitch, * Repeat from * across. Turn [83 dc and 82 ch1sp]

Rows 3: (I used Wine) Chain 3 (counts as 1 dc), tr in the dc beneath the chain 1 space (the one you skipped in R1) * dc in next dc, tr in next skip dc of row 1, * Repeat from * across; ending with 1 dc in the top of the turning ch. Turn [165]

Row 4: (I used Off White) Chain 1, sc in first stitch, * sc in the next stitch, skip next 2 stitches, shell in next stitch; skip next 2 stitches, ** Repeat across to the last 2 stitches, sc in each of the next 2 stitches; Repeat from * across. Turn [27 shells, 30 sc]

Row 5: (I used Wine) Chain 3 (counts as first dc), work 3 dc in first sc; * skip the next 2 dc and next tr, sc in the next tr; work 5 dc in next sc; ** Repeat from * across, ending last Repeat with work 3 dc in the sc; dc in the last sc. Turn [26 shells, 8dc, 27 sc]

Row 6: (I used Off White) Chain 2 (counts as 1 hdc), hdc in each sc and dc across. Turn [165]
