How to work solid rows onto squares crochet tutorial

When putting squares together be sure your stitches are even so that your piece lays flat and doesn’t bunch up. Sometimes working a solid row onto squares can be daunting. Keep in mind that you still need the same amount of stitches so make sure you work them evenly across.

If the corners of the squares (where joined) have a space, you may need to add a stitch or two there; otherwise, you will have gaps in the first solid row.

Take my Fields Of Flowers afghan for an example, after sewing the six squares together I needed to work a solid row across in order to start the next part of the afghan. I needed my stitch count to be 101 in order to maintain the stitch count of the squares.

This same concept would also apply to the border around an afghan. You still need to maintain the stitch count and make sure there are no gaps where the squares are joined.
